Consoles aren’t cheap, and video game prices can go up during the holiday season when a bunch of huge titles come out. GameStop wants you to still be able to play the games you want when they launch, and has rolled out a new no-fee delay program so you can get the gaming products you need to do just that.
Starting now and running through December 11th, the annual No Fee Layaway program allows users to deposit $25 or more on an upcoming game, with the deadline to redeem your item being December 18th. You can trade in games or hardware to help finance your deferred purchase as well, and you can get your deposit back at any time.
Currently, delay options at GameStop include the Nintendo Switch Lite, the PlayStation 4 Pro console, and the PlayStation VR bundle s Blood & Truth and They all have Golf VR on. Any of these are great gift choices this holiday season, and putting down a deposit should guarantee you’ll receive the item and no one will be disappointed, unless you bought them the wrong color Nintendo Switch Lite.

GameStop specifically mentioned only gaming systems and hardware in its announcement of the layoff program. Because of this, we do not anticipate that the video games themselves will be available for disposal. Since a $25 down payment would be required, it wouldn’t make sense to pay off the remaining $35 in smaller installments either.
The GameStop deferral program also does not need a credit check, requiring only ID and an initial deposit. You must be at least 18 years old to participate, and there is no interest charged with the program. Your payments and collection must be made at the same store where you made your initial deposit.
If you’re waiting for the best possible hardware deals before the holidays, we suggest you wait to participate in this program. Black Friday and Cyber Monday always provide deep discounts on gaming systems, often knocking more than $100 off their regular price. Just be quick because the best deals don’t last long online or in retail stores.
